How to make Yellow Moong Dal Fry – Vegetarian Recipes


Moong dal : 1 cup
Chopped onion : 1/4 cup
Tomato : 1/4 cup
Green chilly : 1
Red chilly powder : 1 1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder : 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
Salt : as needed
Cumin seeds : 1 tbsp
Cloves : 3
Cinnamon : 1 stick
Cardamom : 2
Ghee : 1 & 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves : 2 tbsps


Wash and soak yellow moong dal for 1/2 an hour.
Cook moong dal in a pressure cooker with 1 cup of water and with little salt for 3 whistles.
Heat ghee in a pan,add cumin seeds.
Now add green chilly , Cloves, Cinnamom, cardamom and fry for few seconds.
Add onions,chopped tomatoes, salt and fry.
Add the cooked dal ,Red chilly powder, turmeric powder to this mixture and mix.
Add garam masala powder, coriander leaves ,mix well ,close with a lid and let it cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
Remove from flame & Serve
