Zunka – Popular Maharashtrian Recipe by Archana – Spicy Main Course Dish in Marathi
Favorite food of many Maharashtrians, Zunka is a traditional authentic recipe which tastes best with Bhakri. Zunka is a dry Gram Flour preparation and the best part is that it can be made in just 10 minutes!

150 gms Gram Flour
2 tsp Mix Masala
1 Spring Onion
2 tbsp Ginger Garlic crush
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/4th tsp Asafoetida
Coriander leaves as required
Salt as per taste
4 tsp Oil
– Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds start spluttering, add ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves, onion, salt, turmeric powder & mix masala. Let all the ingredients cook for some time.
-Add spring onion and mix well. It enhances the taste of Zunka.
-Add gram flour & mix well. Make sure there are no lumps.
-Add little water to keep the Zunka moist. Repeat this step for two more times and mix well.
-Cover it with a lid and let it cook for 5 to 10 mins on a low flame.
-Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
